First Universal Network

About First Universal Network

First Universal Network was founded in 1976 as a direct sales organisation specialising in helping people to start their own businesses. We only charged our clients a small percentage of their profit, so if we didn't help them make a profit we didn't make any money. This approach meant we built more than businesses, we built many lasting friendships.

By 1996 the direct sales industry had peaked, it seemed everyone was trying to sell various products to each other. Although many of our clients are still running successful businesses, we retired from sales and began our first web venture.

Profit was no longer a motivator for us, we now concentrated on finding something 'positive' to do on the Internet. We decided to try to build bridges between the Far East and the West. We started translating our love of Asian movies into a range of websites under the banner of 'Asian Selections'. Many of the sites created at that time are still online, most notably Your Bolo Yeung Selection, the first and finest site dedicated to Hong Kong movie star, Bolo Yeung. Also still going strong is what is now the world's #1 e-mail based Kung Fu Movie discussion group, Kung Fu Superstars (KFSS).

We started Star-Trek-One back then too, hoping to build a moderately busy group, never imagining it would become the world's #1 e-mail based Star Trek discussion group!

Our other big groups include the biggest group dedicated to a single film company, Hammer Film and the first and biggest American Idol group.

Our other big venture has been in building WebRings. Many of our rings are now the biggest in their fields.

30 years of work, ten years of it on the Internet, but we are not resting just yet. We hope you find the new website easier to navigate, even richer in content and more professionally presented. We also hope you enjoy the Forum we have added into the mix.

As First Universal Network enters an exciting new phase we would like to thank all our visitors past and present for their input and feedback and hope that our future visitors will also find our range of sites and services enjoyable and valuable.
